Thread Lift

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures Los Angeles, CA

Introducing the Thread Lift, a non-surgical procedure designed to elevate tired, sagging, and wrinkled skin in the face and neck. Dr. Alex Neusner, an expert at the California Center for Plastic Surgery, performs this innovative treatment to give a more youthful appearance to the face. In addition to lifting the skin, the threads used stimulate the body’s own collagen production, resulting in skin tightening and enhancing the effects of the thread lift. Often referred to as a “lunchtime facelift,” this procedure is performed in the office with virtually no downtime.

What Happens During A Thread Lift?

All thread lifts at the California Center for Plastic Surgery are personally performed by Dr. Alex Neusner, a specially trained plastic surgeon. Only a physician of his caliber will conduct your procedure. The face is numbed using a small injection of local anesthetic (Lidocaine). Tiny holes are made with a hypodermic needle to allow placement of the threads. The location and number of holes needed will vary based on the area being treated. Very thin smooth cannulas containing barbed sutures are then placed through those holes to deploy the lifting threads. The threads are then trimmed beneath the skin and will not be visible.

What Is The Recovery Like?

Patients typically experience mild pain for 24-48 hours after the procedure, which can be easily managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Mild bruising or swelling may occur, and patients are advised to avoid extreme facial movements for about 2 weeks.

How Long Does a Thread Lift Last?

The sutures used dissolve slowly over 6-8 months. However, due to new collagen formation, results often last for up to one year. Many patients report results lasting as long as 3 years.

How is a thread lift different from a facelift

The Thread Lift is a quick office-based procedure with minimal downtime, making it a popular choice for many. However, the results are less dramatic than those of a facelift. Unlike a facelift, no skin is removed during a thread lift, making it less suitable for patients with large amounts of sagging skin. A facelift tightens both the skin and the underlying connective tissue of the face, providing a significantly more pronounced and long-lasting result. A facelift must be performed in an operating room with anesthesia, involving large incisions and at least 2 weeks of downtime.

LIQUID RHINOPLASTY

For patients seeking to change the shape of the nose without the expense and downtime of a traditional rhinoplasty, Dr. Alex Neusner explains Liquid Rhinoplasty. This procedure, performed at the California Center for Plastic Surgery, utilizes hyaluronic acid filler to add volume to different areas, thereby changing the overall shape and contour of the nose. Results typically last 6 to 8 months, making it an attractive option for those with a medium to small nose who have a prominent dorsal hump or asymmetry. It’s also a great way to “try on” a rhinoplasty without committing to the full expense and pain of a surgical procedure. However, it is not recommended for patients with large noses who desire volume reduction.

Liquid Rhinolasty

Liquid Facelifts, a procedure performed in the clinic to provide a more youthful appearance to the face by treating wrinkles and hollow areas. Dr. Alex Neusner, along with other California Center for Plastic Surgery doctors, uses a combination of fillers and neuromodulators (such as Botox) to achieve a dramatic improvement in facial glow, fullness, and vitality. The liquid facelift can be customized further by combining it with other procedures such as a thread lift, peel, or PRP injection for even more profound results. The doctors carefully consider the attributes and goals of each patient’s face when designing a liquid facelift plan.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial

The Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial uses the patient’s own growth factors to achieve brighter, fuller, and more youthful facial skin. Also known as a Vampire facial, this process involves drawing the patient’s blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma containing a high concentration of platelets. Dr. Alex Neusner explains that this plasma is the “liquid gold” used to revitalize the face. The platelets, rich in growth factors, stimulate tissue healing and collagen growth. This plasma is then injected into the face at the area of concern. It’s suggested to have 2-3 treatments at 6-8 week intervals for the best results. This procedure can be combined with other therapies such as microneedling, laser, filler, and Botox for enhanced results.

Kybella®

Dr. Alex Neusner highlights KYBELLA®, the only injectable treatment for submental fullness (double chin). This FDA-approved injection destroys fat cells in the soft tissue under the chin. During the procedure, multiple small injections of the medication are given into the soft tissue of the upper neck and chin. This 15-30 minute clinic procedure requires no downtime. While most people require 3-6 treatments for optimal results, moderate bruising and swelling may occur as the medication breaks down fat molecules, gradually resorbed by the body. KYBELLA® is ideal for patients bothered by fat under the chin and unable to take time off for surgical procedures like liposuction. However, the total cost of KYBELLA® treatment is often similar to that of liposuction.
